The Telugu Desam Party district unit leaders have been making elaborate arrangements for the success of maiden visit of TDP president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to Karimnagar on March 3 after the formation of Telangana State.
Mr. Naidu campaigned in Jagtial division during the general elections, but this is the first visit of Naidu to Karimnagar. The TDP rank and file geared up for the occasion to make the visit of Mr Naidu a grand success. Already, the TDP leaders have started sprucing up Karimnagar by erecting huge welcome posters, arches, festoons, etc. and painting the town ‘yellow’ with the party flags.
Senior party leaders L. Ramana, E. Peddi Reddy, Ch. Vijayaramana Rao and others were touring Karimnagar district and conducting the party Assembly constituency-wise meetings to make Mr. Naidu’s visit a grand success. Even the party’s State leaders E. Dayakar Rao and Revanth Reddy toured the district.

TDP district president Ch. Vijayaramana Rao said that Mr. Naidu would arrive in helicopter at Ramakrishna Colony on the outskirts of Karimnagar on March 3 at 11.30 a.m. The party would take out a massive procession from the outskirts to Ambedkar stadium where Mr. Naidu would address the party workers. He said that they were expecting a turnout of more than 30,000 party workers for the meeting. Mr. Naidu would conduct review of each Assembly segment till night and leave for Hyderabad on March 4.
In the wake of MRPS activists, setting fire to the dais during TDP meeting in Warangal recently, the police have tightened the security arrangements and denied permission for the MRPS meeting, said DSP J. Rama Rao.
