In a major boost to the Telangana Government’s plans to scale up the implementation of the much publicised 2BHK housing scheme, the Tata Group has agreed to participate in the programme.
Participation of the Tata Housing in the 2BHK scheme was assured by the group Chairman Cyrus P. Mistry to Minister for Information Technology and Urban Development K.T. Rama Rao in Mumbai on Monday. The Minister also called on Reliance Group Chairman Mukesh Ambani during the visit and requested the corporate giants to route investments in Telangana after explaining the merits of the new industrial policy of the State.
Mr. Rama Rao said his discussions with both Mr. Ambani and Mr. Mistry were encouraging since the two had agreed to work with Telangana Government in different fields. The Minister stated that he had explained about the prestigious programmes taken up by the State Government such as Mission Kakatiya, Mission Bhagiratha, 2BHK Housing and Power Generation.

He further stated that opportunities for investments by setting up industries in Telangana were abundant and the State Government was moving ahead with an action plan. It is stated that Mr. Ambani had told Mr. Rama Rao that they had plans to work with Telangana Government.
In his meeting with Mr. Mistry, Mr. Rama Rao is understood to have discussed about investments in IT, industrial and housing sectors. Apart from an assurance on participation in the 2BHK housing scheme, the Tata Group chief told Mr. Rama Rao that they were also planning to set up TATA-AIG Technology Development Centre in Hyderabad and cooperating with T-Hub initiative by supplementing innovation funding from Tata Capital. The Minister was accompanied by IT Secretary Jayesh Ranjan. It is Mr. Rama Rao’s second visit to Mumbai since August last, when he met Ratan Tata, Anand Mahindra and others.
