The State government has succeeded in resolving the impasse over the conduct of tenth, intermediate and degree examinations as the joint action committee of the managements of educational institutions has agreed to extend full cooperation in conducting the examinations.
Representatives of the JAC of managements said they were against causing inconvenience to parents and students and had therefore agreed to cooperate with the government in this regard. They attended a meeting convened by Deputy Chief Minister (Education) Kadiyam Srihari at Secretariat on Monday and brought their problems to the notice of the government.
They informed the Minister that the government was incurring around ₹ 400 crore towards fee reimbursement for students pursuing non-professional degree and post-graduation courses and wanted the government to release the amounts under separate head and make necessary budgetary allocation in this direction. The Minister positively responded to the request, they said.

They wanted the government to evolve a policy for implementation of uniform fee structure in the universities which were opting for common admission procedure and allow these institutions to take up spot admissions to vacant seats. The Minister had agreed to convene a joint meeting of the officials concerned and the JAC representatives within a fortnight to resolve their issues.
The Minister, according to JAC representatives, had accepted the request for rationalising the application procedures for admission into junior colleges and positively responded to the demand for enhancing the tuition fee by 40 per cent. The school managements requested Mr. Srihari to consider a proposal for revising the existing norm of renewing permissions of schools with permanent infrastructure on an annual basis and introduce a system wherein registering once would serve the purpose.
The Minister is understood to have explained the JAC representatives about the progress of converting Telugu medium schools into English medium and wanted the managements to bring to the notice of the government problems if any in the process. The JAC representatives said they had submitted a list of colleges that would cooperate with the government in the smooth conduct of the examinations.
