Special teams to tackle anti-social elements

Superintendent of Police, K.A. Jha directed police personnel at all police station to constitute special teams to combat

anti-social elements and ID liquor menace within their limits.

The department should focus more on rowdy elements and also those engaged in brewing and selling illicitly distilled liquor across the district. The police should also keep an eye on the illegal hoarding and sale of black jaggery used in making ID liquor.

On the proposed ‘She Teams’ in urban areas to check eve teasers, the SP invited suggestions from the officials on the possible locations where the teams have to be stationed. The She Teams would work under DSP rank officer.

Mr. Jha wanted the officers in rural areas to pay attention to the movement of armed cadre of Maoist group. He asked the police officials to conduct counselling programme for the families of underground cadre and undertake random patrolling during night.

Additional SP John Wesley, armed reserve commandant Anwar Hussain, DSPs Ramchander Rao, Muralidhar, Rajamahendra Naik, Surender, Shobhan Kumar, Venkateshwara Rao and others were present at the meeting.
