Additional Secretary in Chief Minister's Office Smita Sabharwal inspected works of the intake wells and pump houses under Mission Bhagiratha at Kumram Bheem project in Asifabad mandal and Yellampalli project in Mancherial mandal in Adilabad on Wednesday. This was the second day of her two-day visit to the district to inspect the progress of the prestigious programme.

At Kumram Bheem project, she inquired about the labourers coming from outside. She asked officials to give priority to local labourers. Among the measures that the authorities should take for the benefit of labourers, Ms. Sabharwal suggested that authorities should provide water and tent for them. They should also put up lights for those working in the night.

The official, who was accompanied by the Officer on Special Duty, Telanganaku Haritha Haram, Priyanka Verghese, also visited the water purification plant at Dhanora in Kerameri mandal. She asked authorities to complete the work soon to supply drinking water to tribal areas which were reeling under drought.
