Miscreants serve them a soft drink mixed with sedative and get away with ₹27,000

Six passengers on board Yashwantapur-Lucknow Express (No. 22683) were looted by unidentified miscreants after they were made to consume a cool drink mixed with a sedative and fall unconscious.

All the victims were painters working in Bangalore. They were going home and were identified as Indrajith, Sanjay and Ranya Dube of Allahabad, Sushil Jashwal of Gorakhpur, Rajnarayana of Jagdeshpur of Uttar Pradesh and Mahesh Savat of Grampet of Madhya Pradesh.

According to the police, the victims boarded the train bound for Lucknow at Yashwantapur in Bengaluru around 11.30 pm on Monday. During the journey, two unidentified persons befriended the victims and offered them cool drink mixed with a sedative. The victims fell unconscious after consuming it.

The other passengers in the general compartment tried to wake them up at Secunderabad and, again, at Kazipet but in vain. They then complained to the railway officials who rushed them to MGM Hospital in Warangal.

Two of the victims regained consciousness at the hospital while the other four remained unconscious at the time of writing this report. The doctors said they were all out of danger. The victims told the police that they were carrying ₹27,000, which was looted by the miscreants.
