Sharmila urges TS to bail out ryots

The need of the hour was for the Telangana government to take steps to ease the misery of farmers across the State who were in a crisis situation. The farming community was suffering due to multiple factors, including irregular and insufficient rainfall, insufficient inputs and a grossly-inadequate minimum support price, said YSRC leader Sharmila.

She told presspersons at the end of her five-day ‘Paramarsa’ tour of Mahbubnagar district where she interacted with farmers, that the government should immediately make available input subsidy, apart from seed, fertilizer and pesticide so that they could expect a better yield in the rabi season at least. She added that the woes of farmers apart, there were complaints of people troubled over the issue of pensions.
