The Communist Party of India (Marxist) district committee will be organising the “Rytu Garjana Jathas” from the November 2 in the district to espouse the cause of farmers.
The party leaders have further resolved to lay a siege to the roads in main centres on the inter-district borders on November 9 to press for concrete steps for alleviating the debt-woes of distressed farmers.
Announcing this at Sundaraiah Bhavan here on Friday, the CPI (M) district secretary P. Sudarshan Rao said resolutions to this effect were passed at the district plenum of the party held here on Thursday.

Mr. Sudarshan Rao alleged that around 72 distressed farmers ended their lives in the district since the Telangana Rastra Samithi (TRS) came to power last year.
While drought conditions are prevailing in around 20 mandals in the district, the State government departments concerned have announced only one mandal as drought-hit in the entire district, he charged.

He said the district plenum discussed about the miserable plight of farmers elaborately and came up with specific programmes of agitation to mount pressure on the government come to the rescue of the debt-ridden farmers.
Funds
Funds would be collected in the form of voluntary donations in the district on Saturday for providing financial assistance to the ASHAs, who have been on an indefinite strike for the past 60 days, he said.
