Road Safety Week from January 11

In response to the orders given by the Government of India and the Government of Telangana the Regional Transport Authority in association with other departments is making arrangements to observe the Road Safety Week in the district from January 11 to 17, according to Deputy Transport Commissioner G.C. Rajaratnam.

As part of week-long programme walkathon, awareness camps for autorikshaws, lorry and school bus drivers, students, vehicle users and people at large and essay writing and painting competitions for students would be conducted. Awareness camps on the benefits of use of seat belt and helmets etc would be organised. Mr. Rajaratnam said that in the last year during the road safety week over 100 programmes were held and this year more than that number would be conducted.
