‘Rahul Gandhi’s visit will rejuvenate party in State’

At least 10 from each GP told to attend Sangareddy meeting

Rahul Gandhi’s participation in the Telangana Praja Garjana public meeting at Sangareddy on June 1, is expected to rejuvenate the Congress party in the State and enthuse the village-level workers, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said.

Addressing a party meeting at Warangal DCC office here on Sunday, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the TPCC is ensuring the attendance of at least 10 leaders or workers from each of the 8,560 gram panchayats in the State in the public meeting to be addressed by AICC vice president Rahul Gandhi.

He said the participation of all leaders and active workers would be a must while local crowd is separately being mobilised for the meeting. Similarly, all active workers from the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad and other towns will also participate in the meeting.

Strengthening party

“For us, ‘Telangana Praja Garjana’ is not just a regular public meeting. It is also an opportunity for us to strengthen the party at all levels,” he said.

Mr. Uttam Kumar Reddy said that Rahul Gandhi would release the ‘Chargesheet’ on the failures of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi Government and the party wants all Congress workers to take those details to every village in the State.

Further, Rahul Gandhi would also unveil the party’s manifesto for 2019 elections. “The future Congress Government will waive off crop loans up to ₹ 2 lakh in a single take. It will also ensure remunerative prices for all agricultural crops,” he declared.

Sadbhavana Divas

Earlier, Uttam Kumar Reddy, along with other Congress leaders paid rich tributes to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his 26th death anniversary by garlanding his statue.

Later, he held a meeting at Warangal District Congress Committee office on the preparations for ‘Telangana Praja Garjana’ being held at Sangareddy on June 1. He also attended the marriage of Warangal Mahila Congress president Poshala Padma Goud’s daughter. DCC president N. Rajender Reddy and other leaders were present.
