Promises to bring every one under minimum income scheme

Congress president Rahul Gandhi said here that his party would ensure that every Indian got a minimum income, which would be decided by the next UPA government, and those falling below that line would get the money credited to their bank accounts.

At his public meeting here on Saturday, ahead of the announcement of the Lok Sabha election schedule, he spoke on the Minimum Income Guarantee Scheme the party plans to introduce if it comes to power. “We will search for such beneficiaries and not a single person will be left behind,” he said.

Drawing cheers from the crowd, he said while Mr Modi worked to fill the pockets of 15 industrialists, ‘we will work for all’. On the Rafale “scam”, he said Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao did not speak a word about it and did not ask the Prime Minister a single word when the country had lost ₹30,000 crore.

He said KCR had never asked for an inquiry as he wanted Mr Modi to continue as Prime Minister. In fact, Mr Rao was scared of Mr Modi as all his corrupt deals would be exposed if he opposed him, he said.

At the well-attended meeting, Mr Gandhi said Mr Modi claimed himself to be a Deshbhakt but a real patriot would never divide the country but spread love. A true patriot would not give ₹ 30,000 crore to a businessman after looting the same from the Indian Air Force (IAF).
