Panchayat Road roads set for a makeover

The State government has sanctioned Rs. 235 crore for developing 1,716 Panchayat Raj roads in

Warangal district and they would be completed within one year.

TRS MPs Kadiam Srihari and A. Sitaram Naik said Rs. 82 crore were sanctioned for 50 important roads under Roads & Buildings Department in the district headquarters.

They said they have taken up the issue of National Highway No 163 from Raigiri to Mulug crossroads, a stretch of 99 kilometres.

It would be taken up by the Central government for which Rs. 1,200 crore were already sanctioned.

“True to its commitment of developing the Telangana, the government has accorded top priority to improve the road network in the district. Once completed, the road network will bring in more development with the improved mobility as all the mandal headquarters will have good roads leading to the district headquarters,” Mr. Srihari said.

The MPs said since the Parliament session is beginning on November 24, they have prepared several representations and notes to be taken up during the session and also to submit to the respective Ministers.

Top 3 works

“The top three works are separate railway division, coach factory and wagon factory at Kazipet.

The next is a national textile mill in Warangal,” they said.

Mr. Srihari said he had decided to fund the drinking water plants in all villages in his parliamentary constituency and urged people to come up with proposals.
