The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of electricity employees’ associations has taken exception to the remarks made by Congress Member of Parliament from Malkajgiri A. Revanth Reddy against them after their opposition to his comments against Chairman and Managing Director of TS-Transco D. Prabhakar Rao and his counterparts of two Discoms.
In a statement issued here on Saturday, representatives of several employees’ unions and associations faulted Mr. Reddy’s comments against the CMDs and employees’ leaders. They suggested that he look back into such occasions in the past, when employees’ unions had opposed comments made by even ruling party leaders.

They pointed out that all the employees’ unions, representing different categories, would be in the first row to oppose any decisions taken that would either directly or indirectly harm the interests of the power utilities.
Like Mr. Reddy had the freedom and right to seek a probe into the alleged irregularities by writing to the Centre, the employees too had every right to oppose personal-level attacks made with political intentions against them or the heads of the power utilities.

Reddy of Power Diploma Engineers Association, Karunakar Reddy and Anjaiah of Accounts Officers Association, G. Saibabu of Electricity Employees Union (1104) Ramesh of EEU (327), K. Kumaraswamy of BC Employees' Association, Bhanu Prakash of OC Employees Association, M. Rajesh and Ramji of SC, ST Employees Association and several others condemned the alleged threatening of union leaders by Mr. Revanth Reddy. By targeting the union leaders the Congress Member of Parliament was now trying to divert the issue of corruption in power deals that he had raised earlier.
