Activists of CPI (ML-New Democracy) and its farmers’ wing AIKMS staged a demonstration in front of the Agriculture Market Yard here on Friday to press for their charter of demands, including increase in minimum support price for cotton from Rs. 4,100 to Rs. 8,800 per quintal.

Mild commotion prevailed at the market yard when the agitators tried to break through the locked entrance gate in a bid to enter into the procurement centre of the Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) on the premises of the yard.
