Police help out the aspirants

The district police won accolades from public for their gesture of transporting students from various places to the Eamcet centres here on Thursday.

The police, who tried to do their best in view of the RTC strike on Wednesday, made adequate arrangements to bring over 2,000 students hailing from rural areas, to the district headquarters for Eamcet.

Police personnel in uniform and plain clothes were seen waiting with auto-rickshaws, private schools buses and two-wheelers offering their services.

They were seen sporting the placards ‘May I Help You’ for easy identification by the students.

Superintendent of Police A.K. Jha coordinated the operations instructing personnel over the wireless sets and moving the officers all over to ensure that no students misses the examination for want of transport.

Mr. Jha thanked officials and personnel involved in the efforts and said such gestures would help build a good public image of the department.

“Our job will be easy when people gain confidence in us,” he told the police personnel.
