Polavaram: MPs to oppose Bill

A meeting of MPs belonging to TRS and also other parties from Odisha and Chhattisgarh on Thursday evening decided to oppose the Bill replacing the ordinance on transfer to Andhra Pradesh 205 villages in the submergence zone of Polavaram project in Khammam district when it was taken up for discussion in Parliament on Friday.

It was attended by Biju Janata Dal leader in Lok Sabha Bhatruhari Mehtab and a Congress MP of Chhattisgarh, sources said. They added that the meeting discussed how the government did not follow Constitutional provisions at the stage of introduction of Bill last week and the danger of displacement of tribals if it was enacted.
