Maharashtra engineers say system better than in Israel

A delegation of Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran, the Water Supply and Sanitation Department, led by its Member Secretary P. Velrasu that was on the field visit of Mission Bhagiratha (MB) for two days has complimented that drinking water supply system in Telangana is better than the one in Israel.

In a meeting with Mission Bhagiratha project officials here on Friday, the delegation comprising engineers of MJP discussed about the project design, permissions, resource mobilisation and implementation with senior engineers led by Engineer-in-Chief G. Krupakar Reddy. The Maharashtra delegation was on the visit to Telangana ahead of that State government’s plans to take up a water grid in Marathwada region.

After explaining about the drinking water problems of Marathwada, Mr. Velrasu sought suggestions from Telangana engineers for designing an efficient and long-lasting system based on the reservoirs there. The visitors also enquired about the best systems implemented in the execution of Mission Bhagiratha works.

A power point presentation was also given on the implementation of Mission Bhagiratha for the benefit of visitors. Mr. Velrasu told Telangana engineers that they had visited Israel and Gujarat for studying efficient water supply systems and station that the water grid developed in some areas of Gujarat was supplying only untreated water. In Israel, the water treatment plants were established only for desalination of sea water, he stated. Advisor to Mission Bhagiratha Gnaneshwar, chief engineers of Telangana Jaganmohan Reddy, Vijaypal Reddy, Vijay Prakash, Ramesh, Srinivas Reddy, Chenna Reddy, Chakravarthi, Vinoba Devi, chief engineers of Maharashtra Chadrakath Ghajibiye, Vijay Jagtare and others participated.
