Owaisi says Mecca Masjid verdict has weakened the fight against terrorism

The Hyderabad parliamentarian accused the National Investigation agency of being “deaf and blind” and said that it did not appeal against the bail which was granted to the accused.

Reacting to the Mecca Masjid blast verdict which acquitted all the accused, Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen President Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday said that the investigation was “biased.”

Mr. Owaisi tweeted, “#MMasjid Blast case verdict - Justice has not been done ,NIA & Modi govt didn’t even Appeal against Bail that was given to Accused within 90 days this was a complete biased investigation which will weaken our resolve to Fight Terrorism, MMasjid 9 people died many injured.”

The Hyderabad parliamentarian accused the National Investigation agency of being “deaf and blind” and said that it did not appeal against the bail which was granted to the accused.

He also said that witnesses in the case were turning hostile after June 2014 and accused the investigation officer was unable to give a “proper statement.”

“Our fight against terrorism is weakened after today’s acquittals,” he said.
