n spite of allegations made by engineering student K. Devi Reddy’s family over role of unidentified persons behind her death, city police surmise there was no foul play in it.
Investigators are yet to officially announce their findings in the case, but sources maintained that they could not stumble upon any lead suggesting that she was murdered as charged by her father K. Niranjan Reddy.
A third-year B.Tech. student of Narayanamma college, Ms. Devi was dropped by her father at her friend Sonali’s house at NCC Urban in Gachchibowli around 7.30 p.m. on April 30.

The prime accused in the case, Bharath Simha Reddy, who was a friend of Ms. Devi for the past few months, picked up Devi and Sonali in his Chevrolet Cruise car around 9.10 p.m. from the latter’s residence.
The trio then drove to road no. 45 in Jubilee Hills and picked up their common friend, Vishswanath.
Two other friends, Pridhvi and Venkat, joined them there in another car. In two cars, the six youngsters went to Beats Per Minute (BPM) pub at Financial District in Gachchibowli around 10.30 p.m. Sonali – accompanied by her family friend Manish – and the other five came out of the pub.

It took nearly 30 minutes for the valet parking drivers to get their cars.
With his mobile phone battery running out of battery, Bharath rang up his mother, Anitha Reddy, through Vishwanath’s phone around 3.14 a.m., informing that he was on his way home.
While Vishwanath and others went back to the pub, Bharath, along with Devi, left in his car towards HUDA colony.
“There was some gap of nearly 20 minutes in between. So it must be around 3.30 a.m. when they started from the pub,” a police officer associated with the investigation of the case told The Hindu .
In next 10 to 14 minutes, the duo reached ABN Andhra Jyothi TV channel office in Journalist colony. By 3.46 a.m., their car came near HUDA colony.
By then, Devi’s father started calling up his daughter to find out where she was.
“He even called Devi from his second daughter Manasa’s mobile phone. Actually, Sonali also rang up Devi at 3.47 a.m. stating that her sister Manasa phoned her and was anxious to know where she was,” police sources said.
At 3.51 a.m., Niranjan Reddy phoned her daughter again and asked where she was.
“At that time, Bharath and Devi were in the car at the dead-end-curve at road no. 70 of HUDA colony. Bharath raced along the slope and rammed the tree having lost control,” maintain police officials analysing their findings.
