The Collector D. Ronald Rose said that facilities during the Godavari pushkaralu should be on a par with those arranged for the Kumbhamela and the Sammakka-Sarakka festival at Medaram.
Inaugurating the training programme for officials on Godavari pushkaralu, he said that they should take them as a challenge and work in three shifts as done during general elections.
The success of recent week-long festivities organised in connection with the first anniversary of the State formation improved the morale of employees and that would help conduct pushkaralu without giving any scope for lapses, he said.

He said a 10-bed temporary hospital would be established at Kandakurthi during the 12-day festival and a control room would be opened round-the-clock.
Bathing ghats
Between 35 and 40 lakh devotees at bathing ghats at Kandakurthi, 15 lakhs at Pochampad, 5 lakhs at Tadapakal and one lakh each at remaining ghats were expected to take the holy dip in the Godavari during pushkaralu beginning July 14, he said. Asking the authorities to complete all construction works by June 30, Joint Collector A. Ravinder Reddy said that for every bathing ghat one district level officer was appointed as in-charge to take care of facilities for visiting people.

At Kandakurthi, Tadapakal and Pochampad incident commanders would be posted, he said.
The Dr. Marri Chenna Reddy Human Resources Development Academy authorities Prasannakumar and Ms. Meena suggested to the district officials that a perfect plan and assessment on required facilities and management were vital for the success of the pushkaralu.
