Nizamabad gears up for formation day

The district administration has geared up for celebrating the Telangana Formation Day followed by week-long programmes on a grand scale from the night of June 1. The celebrations will begin with paying tributes to Telanganga martyrs at their obelisk being constructed at Vinayaknagar, on June 2. Collector D. Ronald Ross informed that after offering floral homage to martyrs the national flag would be unfurled at the Police Parade Ground. Distribution of assets to the poor and cultural programmes would mark the occasion.The Collector said that as many as 30 persons who rendered significant service in their respective fields would be honoured each with a cash award of Rs.51,116. He held series of meetings with officials, non-governmental and cultural organisations.
