CPI national secretary K. Narayana lambasted the Telangana Government for silencing people’s voice by denying permissions for demonstrations at the designated spot ‘Dharna Chowk’ near Indira Park. Addressing a meeting organised by the Left parties on Thursday, he charged Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao of waging a direct war after May 15 when the Left parties are planning an ‘Occupy Dharna Chowk’ programme. “There is no need to silence us. We will silence ourselves if the issue being agitated for is resolved,” Dr. Narayana said, on banning of Dharna Chowk as point of protests. Telangana has not materialised as a separate State owing to Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao’s family, but owing to Telangana people’s unwavering commitment, he said. “TRS has brought in dictatorship in ‘corruption’ as well as governance,” he said, and alleged rampant corruption in Mission Kakatiya and Mission Bhageeratha schemes.
Meanwhile, TJAC chairperson M. Kodandaram, while addressing the relay hunger strike camp at the Makhdoom Bhavan, called upon the democratic forces to come in thousands and occupy Dharna Chowk on May 15.
