Nalgonda ranks last in junior Inter exams

Nalgonda district stood last among the ten Telangana districts in junior Intermediate results that were announced on Wednesday.

The pass percentage of the district declined from last year’s 44 per cent to 43 per cent this year, but slid down to the last position from the last year’s eight position in Telangana State.

The Hindu , Regional Inspection Officer Intermediate Education, N. Prakashbabu said that the they were disappointed with the results since they expected better performance from the children.

“We were reviewing the results to know what could be the main reason behind the poor performance of the students, he said.

However, Mr. Prakashbabu said that they would better prepare the students for the advanced supplementary examinations to help them clear all the subjects.

Girls outshine boys

Meanwhile, the girls fared better than boys.

While the girls have 50 per cent of pass percentage, only 35 per cent of boys, who appeared in the examinations could clear.

Sangareddy Staff Reporter adds: The Medak district stood in eight place in the State in the first year Intermediate results. According to officials of the Board of Intermediate Education, 13,250 students passed out of the total 29,669 students, who appeared for the examination with a pass percentage of 45 per cent.

Last year it was 46 per cent.

While girls performed well with 51 per cent, the pass percentage among boys was only 39 per cent.

In the vocational courses, the pass percentage in the district was around 48 per cent.
