Medicos unfazed, to continue stir

The agitating junior doctors have told the High Court that their agitation would continue as respective State governments were not implementing the undertakings on their demands, given to the High Court.

The assertion to continue the agitation came before the Division Bench comprising Chief Justice Kalyan Jyothi Sengupta and Justice P.V. Sanjay Kumar on Wednesday.

The Bench inconclusively heard the arguments on the writ petition filed by Ravikiran Swamy, who complained that in spite of court orders the junior doctors were continuing their strike endangering the lives of citizens. The Bench initially asked the junior doctors’ counsel to decide on withdrawal of strike assuring to look into all the genuine issues raised by the medicos.

The hearing was adjourned by 30 minutes to facilitate the senior counsel L. Ravichander to have a word with striking junior doctors. Later, the court was informed that agitation would continue and the counsel urged the Bench to hear the version of striking medicos.
