Man slits wife’s throat

In a gruesome incident, a 38-year-old person allegedly slit his wife’s throat with a blade in Kalluru on Sunday.

According to sources, K. Ramu, a grocery shop owner, allegedly attacked his wife Vijaya Laxmi, 35, a supervisor of the ICDS scheme, with a blade at their rented house. He inflicted multiple injuries on her throat.

The neighbours rushed to their house on hearing Vijaya Laxmi’s screams and immediately shifted her to a hospital in Penuballi. Her condition is stated to be stable.

Ramu reportedly had a strained relationship with his wife over a family feud.

However, the local police are yet to establish the exact motive behind the incident.

A case has been registered at Kalluru police station and further investigation is on.
