Man held, gold seized

Railway police on Monday apprehended a person hailing from Coimbatore carrying two kg of gold at Warangal railway station.

 Government Railway Police Inspector, Ravi Kumar said Ayyappan, carrying a bag with two kg of gold ornaments alighted from Raptisagar Express on Monday morning. Police, while carrying out frisking of baggages found the unaccounted gold.

On questioning, Ayyappan failed to produce relevant documents in support of the consignment. He is said to have brought bullion to Warangal to be handed over to local jewellers. Police seized the contraband worth Rs. 57.45 lakh.
