Mahatma’s death anniversary observed

Officials paid homage to the Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi in connection with his 65th death anniversary across the district on Friday.

Registrar R. Limbadri led the teaching and non-teaching staff in paying tributes to Mahatma at Telangana University campus. Earlier, he garlanded the portrait of Gandhi.

At the Pragati Bhavan, which houses all the government offices, including the Collector office, Collector D. Ronald Ross led the staff in observing a two minute silence in memory of the great soul. Joint Collector Ravinder Reddy and officers were present on the occasion. They all recollected the services of Mahatma to the nation.

At Congress Bhavan, the party cadres under the leadership of the DCC president Taher Bin Hamdan paid tributes to Father of the Nation.

Karimnagar Special Correspondent adds: The District Congress committee leaders paid floral tributes to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion of his death anniversary in Karimnagar on Friday.

At Congress party office, DCC president K. Mruthyunjayam paid floral tributes to the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi. On this occasion, he recollected the non-violence propagated by Mahatma Gandhi. Town Congress president K. Rajashekhar paid floral tributes to the statue of Gandhi at the Karkhanagadda locality in the town.
