Minister for IT and Municipal Administration K Taraka Rama Rao conducted a whirlwind tour of his Sircilla assembly segment in the district on Wednesday and participated in various developmental programmes.
He inaugurated the Sircilla cooperative urban bank constructed at a cost of ₹ 2.24 crore in the textile town and laid foundation stone for the execution of Mission Bhagiratha work to provide drinking water to Sircilla town at a cost of ₹ 60.76 crore.
Later, he inaugurated the modern vegetable market constructed at a cost of ₹ 55 lakhs.

He went around the market and interacted with vegetable vendors and traders and assured to provide all assistance to them and customers at the market. Collector D Krishna Bhaskar, Urban bank chairman D Laxminarayana, Bank CEO P Srinivas, Municipal chairperson S Pavani and others were also present.
The Minister also participated in the distribution of two dustbins for segregation of garbage from the generating points to the residents of the Sircilla town.
Listing out his performance as legislator of the constituency, Mr Rao said he was taking all measures to ensure monthly wages of ₹ 15,000 to power loom weavers. The government will also strive to get them orders for school uniforms through Rajiv Vidya Mission school and also Bathukamma sarees.

The Minister said that the State Government was also taking measures for setting up an apparel park to provide employment to the womenfolk.
