To mark the beginning of two mega projects, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao unveiled a pylon symbolising water grid at Choutuppal, and another at Verulapalem village of Damarcherla mandal constructed for Yadadri Thermal Power Plant.
The Chief Minister arrived in a chopper to Choutuppal at around 5 p.m. on Monday evening. He was accorded grand welcome by local officials and public representatives.
Later, he flew to Damarcherla to unveil the power plant pylon. Later, Mr. Rao came to Nalgonda where he addressed a massive public meeting at N.G. College grounds. Marking the launch of over Rs. 42,000 crore project meant to supply safe drinking water to every house hold in Telangana before the next elections, the State government constructed a massive pylon at Choutuppal market yard on three acres of land investing Rs. 1.95 crore. The water grid needs 39.27 tmc of water to supply safe drinking water to nearly three crore people in 5,139 villages, 59 towns and five cities. After striking a deal with Bharat Heavy Electrics Limited (BHEL) on Damarcherla Thermal Power Plant, works on 4000 MW TSGENCO project have been grounded today. The BHEL has agreed to complete the Rs.1,790 crore project within four years. Two plants having 800 MW capacity will be completed in three years and remaining three plants each having same the capacity will take one more year.
