Collector N. Satyanarayana has said that the district is number five in all parameters and third in respect of healthcare among the newly-formed districts.
The district was in second position in purchasing paddy in kharif. Through Horticulture Department under micro and drip irrigation scheme implements worth about ₹32.90 crore were distributed to 3,576 farmers. Under the sheep distribution scheme 13,734 sheep were purchased with an amount of ₹7.25 crore were distributed to 654 sheep farmers.
As regards the double bedroom houses 583 were completed so far and 2,878 units are under various stages of construction, he said while addressing the gathering of people after hoisting national flag at the Indira Gandhi Stadium on the occasion of 70th Republic Day celebrations, here on Saturday.
