A division bench comprising Chief Justice of Telangana High Court Justice Raghvendra Singh Chauhan and Justice Shameem Akther on Monday rejected a plea of some women to meet minor girls who were shifted to rescue homes from brothels in Yadadri.
The women, who were said to be step-mothers of the girls, had impleaded in the case but the bench observed that the women faced criminal cases which would impact the girls. The court advised the women to have faith in courts and not get agitated about their safety. The bench also observed that their welfare, education and reform with a view to provide them a bright future would be monitored by court.
The bench posted the case for further hearing on July 5 when the report of Rachakonda Police Commission in the case was also to be filed before court. It may be recalled that the court had initiated suo motu action on newspaper reports that kidnapped girls were pushed into prostitution at brothel houses in Yadadri. The case came up for hearing again on Monday when some women impleaded in it. The counsel for implead petitioners stated that 26 minor girls were lodged in a private rescue home where the facilities were poor. Their welfare was not known after that. Therefore, the women should be permitted to meet them.

The special government pleader Sharat Kumar informed the court that chargesheets were filed in all cases relating to the episode. The court had ordered earlier that no one should be allowed to meet the children in rescue homes.
