The Hyderabad High Court cleared decks for further investigation and prosecution of the office bearers of Jubilee Hills Co-operative House Building Society, Hyderabad, who allegedly resorted to fudging of records to dispose off seven public utility spaces in prime location of Jubilee Hills area in Hyderabad.
Justice A. Ramaligenswar Rao of Hyderabad High Court dismissed the writ petition filed by V.Janardhan Babu and eight other office bearers who were shown as accused in the crime registered in 2002. V.Janardhan Babu and eight others were elected as office bearers of this prime elite society in November 2000. There were allegations that they had resorted to disposing of seven public utility spaces in the name of lease for 50 years. They had contended that there are tender bids and cheques were given. But there were allegations that all these were fabricated.
The co-operative department and Vigilance and Enforcement department conducted inquires and as per recommendations crime was registered in Jubilee Hills police station in 2002. They approached the high court and filed writ petition and obtained stay. When the case had come up for final hearing last week Justice Ramalingeswar Rao expressed dismay at the long pendency. He called for records and expressed opinion that the allegations are serious in nature and the full fledged investigation is necessary. He dismissed the writ petition and ordered completion of investigation and further course as per law.
