A long list of heirs to the seat of their fathers who are enjoying power in the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has become a subject of gossip in the party these days.
Topping it is Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari’s daughter Kavya, a pathologist, who recently joined a government hospital in Warangal, as an aspirant for the TRS ticket from Station Ghanpur Assembly constituency, held in the past by Mr. Srihari. The present MLA from the constituency and former Deputy Chief Minister T. Rajaiah has rubbished her claim and reportedly said he alone will get the TRS ticket.
A son of Speaker S. Madhusudanachary is said to be eyeing the seat of his father who represents Bhoopalpally Assembly constituency but, interestingly, the legislator couple Konda Surekha and Konda Muralidhar Rao have been promoting the name of their daughter Sushmita Patel from the same constituency.

Sources said there are at least five Ministers -- Eatala Rajender, Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, Tummala Nageswara Rao, A. Chandulal and Talasani Srinivas Yadav -- who wanted to give up their seats in favour of their family members. Of them, Mr. Rajender, Mr. Nageswara Rao and Mr. Yadav were said to be interested in election to Parliament while Mr. Srinivas Reddy and Mr. Chandulal might like to take rest due to old age and health reasons. Mr. Rajender was keen on accommodating his wife Jamuna but Mr. Nageswara Rao and Mr. Yadav promoted their sons Yugandhar and Sandeep respectively from Assembly constituencies now held by them.
On the other hand, Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy’s son-in-law Srinivas Reddy, a corporator of Ramnagar in Hyderabad, was reportedly mounting pressure on his father-in-law for the TRS ticket to contest from Musheerabad, earlier represented by Mr. Narasimha Reddy.
Another Minister Jupally Krishna Rao’s son Arun also nursed ambition to step into his father’s shoes from Kollapur, but he was reportedly advised to wait till 2024.

Similar was the case with Mahbubnagar MP A.P. Jithender Reddy’s son Mithun.
Malkajgiri MP C. Malla Reddy’s son Mahender Reddy and son-in-law Rajasekhara Reddy looked for an opening from Medchal and Qutbullapur Assembly constituencies and State government representative in New Delhi Manda Jagannatham’s son Srinath was keen on contesting again from Alampur, it was said. He had lost the last election.
Among siblings, prominent names were that of Transport Minister P. Mahender Reddy’s brother Narender Reddy and Palakurthi MLA Errabelli Dayakar Rao’s brother Pradeep Rao. Mr. Narender Reddy’s candidature was reportedly almost cleared for Kodangal Assembly constituency.
