Former MP V. Hanumantha Rao, who represents Amberpet Cricket Club in Hyderabad Cricket Association, appealed to the HCA ombudsman, L. Narasimha Reddy, to look into all the issues that have cropped up in the wake of last Special General Meeting. He also appealed to him to adjudicate on the issue of conflict of interest pertaining to the post of president occupied by G. Vivekanand, Advisor to Telangana Government.
Releasing a copy of the memorandum submitted to the ombudsman, Mr. Rao reiterated that Dr. Vivekanand holding the president’s post results in conflict of interest in the wake of Justice Lodha panel recommendations to the BCCI.
“Dr. Vivekanand says he is not taking any salary. But will he deny that he is not enjoying all the benefits that come with the post?” Mr. Rao asked. “I requested the ombudsman to restrain Dr. Vivekanand from convening, conducting or acting in any manner or matters pertaining to the HCA till the disposal of the above case,” Mr. Rao stated in the memorandum.

Financial status
“I challenge Dr. Vivekanand to openly declare what has been his contribution to the promotion of cricket in Telangana ever since he took over as HCA’s president. Look at how Andhra Cricket Association developed full-fledged cricket academies in all the districts and still has a bank balance of close to ₹50 crore. And what is the financial position here? Nothing to rave about,” Mr. Rao said.
“The way the HCA president and secretary T. Seshnarayan fell out within one year was because of the dictatorial attitude of the former. By their actions, they have brought disrepute to the HCA itself,” he alleged.

“The way Dr. Vivekanand treated former India captain Mohd Azharuddin, who is a pride of Hyderabad, at the last SGM was disgusting to say the least. Only when I spoke to the respected ombudsman and persistent appeals by Shivlal (Yadav) and Raju (Venkatapathi), Azhar was allowed to attend it,” he said.
He also questioned whether HCA has taken permission from the BCCI to conduct G. Venkataswamy Memorial Cup T-20 Telangana League. “If prescribed procedures were followed, HCA would have made crores of rupees,” he said.
