The CPI senior leader and former MLA Gunda Mallesh has accused the governments at Centre and in the State of adopting policies benefitting the corporate majors and neglecting their poll promises.

Coming down heavily on the Modi-led BJP government for its policies which he termed were against the people, he wanted to know as to what happened with the arrival of American President Barrack Obama to India. The BJP was routed in the Delhi Assembly elections due to its irrational policies and religious hatred, he said adding that if it failed to change its [BJP] priorities it would have to face the same kind of results all over India in future.

Addressing a press conference here on Monday, Mr. Mallesh said that the Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao was taking unilateral decisions and if he did not take the Opposition into confidence his dream of achieving ‘golden Telangana’’ would not be possible. He wondered why KCR was silent on the allegations against his Ministers and MLAs in connection with the illegal sand mining.

He said his party along with other Left parties would oppose anti-people and anti-worker policies of the Centre and State. The CPI was gaining strength with its agitations in support of people and the party would adopt key decisions on many issues in its State and conference to be held in Khammam in March and national conference in Pondicherry in April, he said.
