Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao has assured that Gajwel constituency would be developed as a model constituency.
Mr. Rao along with Lok Sabha member K. Prabhakar Reddy and Zilla Parishad Chairman A. Rajamani participated in various programmes in the constituency limits on Sunday.
He had laid stone for the construction of four road works – Guraram-Waradarajpally, Mulugu, Rayavaram-Karakapatla, Kodakandla-Jagadevpur -- at an estimated cost of Rs.78.10 crore.

The Minister also commenced restoration of Nallacheruvu tank works at an estimated cost of Rs. 48.85 lakh at Rayavaram village in Jagdevpur mandal under ‘Mission Kakatiya’. He formally inaugurated a community hall constructed with Rs. 6 lakh in the same village.
Addressing a gathering on this occasion, Mr. Rao said that roads are being developed in the State like never before, besides re-laying the damaged roads.
“All district headquarters are being linked with mandal headquarters with double road and the government is sanctioning funds for this purpose through Roads and Buildings department. All single roads are being transformed into double roads,” said Mr. Nageswara Rao.

Informing that the State Government has been taking up various schemes like Mission Kakatiya, land distribution for Dalit families, hike in pensions for physically-challenged and aged, the Minister called upon people to avail these schemes.
Being the Chief Minister’s constituency, Gajwel has been attracting the attention of all Ministers. Few days ago, Education Minister K. Srihari visited the constituency headquarters and examined the proposed site for construction of Education City which will have two separate centres for boys and girls.
The government has already planned 24x7 water supply system for the constituency headquarters and one of the villages, Yerravally, was selected for solar village scheme. A fire station with about Rs. 2.75 crore with all modern facilities was already sanctioned. Rs. 21 crore was sanctioned for 100-bed hospital. Two auditoriums and one office complex were also proposed at the constituency which is under active consideration by the government.
Meanwhile, the State government has already planned to set up a horticulture university and is zeroing in on land at a specific location near Mulugu. A horticulture training college is also being planned in the constituency.
The Chief Minister’s dream programme – Free KG to PG Education - would be formally introduced in the constituency and the planning is already on.
Pandavula Cheruvu in Gajwel town would be developed on par with Tank Bund in Hyderabad and the Chief Minister has directed the officials to complete the tank works before commencement of rainy season.
