The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) has decided to observe the first formation day of the State as ‘Thanks Giving Day’ to All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Sonia Gandhi on June 2.
Speaking to reporters here on Monday, District Congress Committee (DCC) president V. Sunitha Lakshma Reddy and former Lok Sabha member Suresh Shetkar said that formation day would be celebrated at village, mandal and district level. A motorcycle rally would be held at the district headquarters followed by paying tributes to the martyrs at the memorial constructed at Inspection Bungalow.
“The government led by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has been falsifying the history and presenting wrong information to the next generation. Not mentioning the names of Sonia Gandhi, Prof. Jayashankar and other martyrs in the 10th class Social studies textbook is part of conspiracy by Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS). It will not be tolerated. We will revolt against the government once the celebrations were over,” said Sunitha Lakshma Reddy.

Mr. Suresh said that the role played by Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao as a lone MP from TRS during the passage of separate State Bill was nothing but zero. “The dream of Telangana was realised because of Sonia Gandhi who took the decision at the cost of the party in Andhra Pradesh ,” he said.
