Two die while collecting flowers for Bathukamma

A contract worker accidentally drowned in a pond while trying to collect lotus flowers in connection with the festival of flowers in Palvancha town on Tuesday. The police identified the deceased as Veeraiah, 35, a contract worker of Kothagudem Thermal Power Station (KTPS) in Palvancha.

The local residents fished out the body from the pond and passed on the information to the town police.

Meanwhile in Karimnagar, V. Bal Reddy (50), who went into the forests to pluck flowers was reportedly electrocuted when he came in contact with live wires on the outskirts of Kannepalli village of Mahadevpur mandal on Tuesday morning.
