Extend ‘Kalyan Lakshmi’ to poor Brahmin girls, State told

The Akhila Brahmana Seva Sangham Karimnagar district unit has urged the State government to implement the ‘Kalyana Lakshmi’ financial assistance scheme for the marriage of girl to the families of poor Brahmins also.

At a press conference here on Friday, seva sangham leaders Brahmaiah, Puram Premchander Rao, N. Laxman Rao, Mallikarjuna Shailaja, G.V. Ranga Rao and others also urged Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao to sanction houses to the poor Brahmins and also scholarships for the higher education on par with other BPL people.

Expressing concern over the neglect of Brahmana community hall in Karimnagar, they urged the government to sanction Rs. 50 lakh for it. The Brahmana Seva Sangham also decided to felicitate Husnabad MLA V. Satish Kumar on July 5.
