Telangana TDP leader E. Dayakar Rao on Friday lashed out at Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao for praising Nizam’s rule and said it was tantamount to insulting the people of Telangana State. He alleged that Mr. Rao was praising the Nizams and enacting a drama with an eye on municipal corporation polls.
During the Nizam’s rule, people eagerly wanted to get rid of that dictatorial and suppressive regime. He said that the Chief Minister was adopting double standards by praising Kumram Bheem on one hand and the Nizams on the other.
Meanwhile, general secretary of the Communist Party of India (CPI) Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy has criticised the Chief Minister for eulogising the Nizam’s rule which killed a number of freedom fighters and the heroes of Telangana Armed Struggle.

Addressing a press conference here on Friday, he sought to know how Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao could hail the Nizam who killed freedom fighter Kumram Bheem, after whom the State government was planning to construct a memorial building.
He said the Nizam supported the ‘razakars’ who terrorised people of other religions, committed atrocities against women and killed freedom fighters.
Mr. Sudhakar Reddy asked whether the Nizam should be hailed for oppressing people or keeping 95 per cent of the population in his State as illiterates. The CPI leader said Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao appeared to be in a misconception that he would get popularity among the Muslim community only if he hailed the Nizam.
