Eight-member dacoit gang nabbed

Nalgonda police nabbed an eight-member dacoity gang here on Wednesday night and seized five sharp weapons, three torch lights, one screw driver, three two-wheelers, Rs. 15,000 cash at Garakunta Tanda under Garidepally police station limits. The police also nabbed two others who hired the gang at Kodad.

Speaking to reporters here on Thursday, Superintendent of Police T. Prabhakar Rao said the eight-member gang was involved in one dacoity, a burglary attempt, theft in nights, chain snatching and stealing of cattle under various police stations each.

Recently, Tunkoju Ramesh, working with Commercial Tax Office in Miryalaguda, hired the gang with the help of Kalakonda Maneshwar Rao, working as RTC conductor, to kill a person.

The gang led by Dharavath Sitaram were stay put at a house at Garakunta village when the Kodad, CCS and Huzurnagar police raided the house and took all the eight into custody.

Meanwhile, the police also arrested Ramesh and Maneshwar Rao.

All the eight members of the gang are residents of Balajinagar in Kodad and are aged below 30.

Another member connected to gang Bhukya Suresh is at large.

A case has been registered and the investigation is on.
