Dubai to set free 92 illegal emigrants

The Dubai government has decided to free 92 migrant workers who have been languishing in its jails for overstaying with illegal visas, in connection with the Ramzan festival, according to Patkuri Basanth Reddy, president, Gulf Telangana Welfare and Cultural Association.

He said the Indian Embassy has been requested to arrange air tickets for all those poor workers on time, failing which they would be sent back to jail. The Dubai authorities sent the list of 92 prisoners, including some from the Telugu States, to the Indian Embassy, he said.

He appealed to the Ministry of External Affairs to take initiative and give suitable orders to the authorities in Indian Embassy in Dubai. Migrant workers from Telugu States were also there in 92 members, he said.
