Drug trial leads to youth’s hospitalisation

An unemployed youth, who was undergoing drug trial with a laboratory in Bengaluru, was hospitalised following blood vomiting at Kothapalli village of Jammikunta mandal on Saturday.

Reports said Boga Suresh (36), who had come in contact with a person in Karimnagar town, had volunteered for undergoing drug trial with a laboratory in Bengaluru at a premium. For the past two years, he had been consuming some tablets.

On Saturday evening, he started vomiting blood at his house. When his family members questioned him, he said he had visited Bengaluru and had been undergoing drug trial with three laboratories. The family members shifted him to a hospital in Karimnagar town for treatment.

A week ago, Cheliveri Ashok Kumar of the same village had undergone drug trial and became mentally unsound. He was shifted to Institute of Mental Health at Erragadda in Hyderabad.

Six months ago, Vangara Nagaraju of Nagampet village in Jammikunta mandal died while undergoing drug trial.
