Industries and Information Technology Minister K.T. Rama Rao has directed the officials concerned to create awareness among the people living in the vicinity of the proposed pharma city and medical devices park, about the benefits of the project.
Residents should be made aware of the benefits like creation of new jobs, while being made aware of the pollution-free operation of the medical devices park, with their zero liquid discharge facility that was being put in place, in the venture. The campaign must be taken up ahead of the public hearing, expected to be conducted for granting environmental clearances to the initiative.
The Minister reviewed the progress of works on different projects launched by the department with senior officials on Thursday. The officials informed the Minister that more than 8,500 acres of land would be required for the prestigious projects going by the interest shown by different firms in setting up their ventures here.

‘Stick to target’
Mr. Rama Rao asked the officials concerned to declare the milestones they had proposed to achieve with respect to different projects in the next three months, and to put effort into sticking to the timeline. The government would take a serious view in case of officials failing to achieve their targets in the stipulated time. He added that the State stood number one in the country in terms of Ease of Doing Business parameters last year and the trend should continue this year too.
He said the State had attracted some major names in the aerospace sector and the officials concerned should strive to bring more such companies into the aerospace park. Officials explained the progress of fibre grid project which was taken up simultaneously with the prestigious Mission Bhagiratha project and said that the grid would be fully functional by the time the mission was completed.

They said that the Telangana Academy of Skills and Knowledge had so far focused on training students from engineering disciplines and that the training programmes would be extended to key sectors like healthcare, pharma and automotive in the coming days, according to a press release.
