There appears to be an end to the woes of pensioners of the erstwhile AP Housing Board of the united State who are struggling to get their full pensions and other pensionary benefits since bifurcation of the State.
The governments of the two states are learnt to have decided to resolve the stalemate on the issue amicably in line with the directions of the High Court.
Telangana Chief Secretary S.K. Joshi and Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh L.V. Subrahmanyam discussed the issue at a meeting of senior officials of the two States held here on Monday.

The meeting was convened in the light of the HC’s directives to resolve the issue before November 4.
The meeting, it is learnt, has decided to submit the minutes of today’s deliberations to the High Court before November 11 and wait for the court’s final orders on the issue.

The senior officials at the meeting also discussed about the dispute relating to the promotions granted by the previous government of Andhra Pradesh headed by the Telugu Desam Party.
The issue has turned controversial after the Telangana government asserted that these promotions would have an impact on the seniority list at a time when the allocation of officers in the category of deputy superinentendent of police (civil), additional superintendent of Police (non-cadre) and Superintendent of Police (non-cadre) was incomplete. The senior officials at the meeting, it is learnt, decided to revisit the tentative seniority list prepared a couple of years ago and fine tune that wherever necessary so that the allocation is completed at the earliest.

Incidentally, the AP government transferred Mr. Subrahmanyam from the post when the meeting was underway and the AP delegation is understood to have rushed to Vijayawada immediately after the conclusion of the deliberations.
