Minister for Finance and Civil Supplies Etala Rajender asked the farmers to be cautious about the dubious acts of the Opposition Congress and TDP.
The Congress and TDP had ruled the region for several decades and were responsible for the present plight of the farmers, he alleged and called upon the farmers not to trust the Andhra parties.
Talking to newsmen here on Sunday, the Minister said that the Central and State governments have constituted several committees to study the plight of farmers. The committees such as Swaminathan, Ramachanna Reddy, Jayathi Ghosh and others have submitted reports making several recommendations to the government to take necessary measures to stop suicides by the farmers, but in vain, he stated.

Appealing the farming community from taking the extremes step, he said that they would be opening a counselling centre in Karimnagar town to redress the grievances of the farming community. With regard to the ASHA workers strike, Karimnagar MP B Vinod Kumar flayed the CITU leaders for participating in the strike in Telangana State when the issue of ASHA workers pertains to the Union government. We also recommended the Union government to increase the incentives for the ASHA workers, he said and asked the CITU leaders to demand the Union government to increase the wages of workers. Legislators G Kamalakar and D Manohar Reddy, TRS district president Eda Shankar Reddy and others were also present.
