Congress stages protest at all mandal revenue offices

Scores of Congress workers staged protest demonstrations at all mandal revenue offices across the district here on Wednesday.

District Congress Committee (DCC) president N Rajender Reddy and others led the protests.

They said State government has failed to initiate drought relief measures in the district forcing people to migrate. The government despite Governor’s warning the government failed to release the pending wages under MNREGS. “There are Rs 312 crore dues pending in the State to MNREG workers,’ Mr Rajender Reddy said.

The extreme weather conditions, lack of income and unemployment forcing the people to leave their villages in search of livelihood elsewhere.

The Congress leaders urged the State government to wake up and address the problems facing the people in rural parts. Massive drought relief measures should be launched across the state and help the poor.
