Congress leaders fault CM for redesigning projects

The ‘Jala Sadhana’ public meeting of the Congress party at Chowdriguda in Shadnagar mandal saw the senior Congress party leaders increasing the tempo of attack against Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao blaming him for denying water to the erstwhile Rangareddy district.

TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said farmers are not getting Rythu Bandhu and unemployed youth any jobs while the projects have been redesigned leading to corruption.

“We are giving one year to Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao to give water to Rangareddy and fulfil his promise,” he said while revealing that the project designed by the Congress to assure water to Rangareddy district has been scrapped by Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao.

Bahubali motors

Bhongir Member of Parliament Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said water lifted from Kaleshwaram have found way to the sea and not to the farmers’ lands. The ‘bahubali’ motors being used by government were actually bought for the Pranahita-Chevella project by the YSR government, he claimed.

He ridiculed KCR’s promise of water to Rayalaseema and said he was looking for commissions as it would cost at least ₹ 3 lakh crore for any such project taking Godavari water to Rayalaseema.

Mr. Reddy also took a dig at Eatala Rajender saying he or his party were not the owners of Telangana but martyrs like Sreekantha Chary and Sonia Gandhi who kept her promise of delivering Telangana despite odds.

Rightful share

Malkajgiri Member of Parliament A. Revanth Reddy sharpened his attack on KCR and warned that they would fight to take their rightful share of water rather then begging for it. He also challenged the Chief Minister to a debate on the projects constructed by the Congress and the land irrigated.

Telangana has topped in liquor sales and that is the only achievement of Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao, he charged.

Former MP Konda Vishweshwer Reddy, AICC secretary Challa Vamshichand Reddy and former MLA T. Rammohan Reddy also spoke.

Uttam takes on BJP

Mr. Uttam Reddy criticised BJP general secretary Ram Madhav for spreading ‘falsehood’ and reminded that it were the Congressmen and Communists who fought against the Nizam and ensured Hyderabad’s integration with the Indian Union. Where was the BJP then, he asked and said Mr. Ram Madhav was distorting history.
