Complaint panels to prevent sexual harassment

District Collector D. Ronald Rose has asked the heads of all the government departments to appoint internal complaint committees to strengthen measures to prevent sexual harassment against women at offices.

At a meeting here on Saturday, he said that till date, such committees were formed only in half of the departments as against the total of 65.

He directed the heads of departments to initiate steps to appoint committees immediately in the rest of the departments.

If at all any complaint is lodged by a female employee, it must be brought to the notice of the district committee. Superintendent of Police S. Chandrashekar Reddy, District Medical and Health Officer Basweswari, BC Welfare Officer Vimala Devi, local complaint committee chairperson Kavitha Reddy, advocate Neeraja Reddy and member Rekha participated in the meeting.
