Congress MLA from Jagtial in Karimnagar district on Friday urged Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao to use his good offices to see that proposed Manoharabad-Kothapalli rail line via Sircilla connected more areas in the district by making slight changes.
In a letter to Mr. Rao, the MLA said the proposed line that was sanctioned by the Centre following the efforts of the Chief Minister and Karimnagar Member of Parliament B. Vinod Kumar, would connect the district headquarters town with the existing line from Kothapalli with the one in Medak.
He said that if it were taken from Vemulawada to Jagitial and proposed to be extended from Jagtial to Dharmapuri and from Luxettipet to Mancherial, it would assume the importance of an alternate rail line connecting the State Capital of Hyderabad with North India.

The proposed line would be useful to the district if the changes were made, wherein people of 14 mandals in Jagtial and the town itself, apart from people in Korutla, Dharmapuri and Vemulawada Assembly constituencies would get good access to Hyderabad, he said.
This way, Jagtial that would soon become a district headquarters town would be connected to North India from Dharmapuri, Luxettipet and Macherial, a scenario where Mancherial would emerge as a centre to extend the facility of being connected with the North-South corridor, to the whole of Telangana. Mr. Jeevan Reddy urged the Chief Minister to consider his suggestions and take it forward, appropriately.
